Level Playing Field is a grassroots initiative working to remove barriers to sport and physical activity for rangatahi across Aotearoa.
The kaupapa began from a deeply personal place, shaped by founder Zane’s experience growing up in Ohaupo, Waikato, in a large family where access to sport wasn’t always possible. Seeing first-hand the impact sport can have on confidence, wellbeing and connection highlighted a gap — and a need — within local communities.Level Playing Field exists to ensure rangatahi can participate in sport regardless of background or circumstance. Through programmes, partnerships and community-led initiatives, the organisation works to create access, build confidence and support long-term wellbeing.
Community & Campaigns
Community sits at the heart of Level Playing Field. Campaigns and content are designed to reflect real people, real stories and real impact - not staged moments or polished narratives.
From events and fundraising initiatives to rangatahi-led storytelling, the focus is on participation, visibility and connection. Social and campaign content plays a key role in building momentum, sharing progress, and inviting the wider community to be part of the journey.
